Francis Xavier Zammit of Presidential Lakes, Browns Mills, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Samaritan Hospice Unit, Mount Holly. He was 85.
He was a native of Malta and served with the British during World War II, coming to the United States in 1946.
Francis was a retired master sergeant with 20 years in the U.S. Army, and was a decorated veteran of Korea and Vietnam.
He also was retired from the U.S. Civil Service FAA and the State of N.J. Department of Transportation.
Francis was a resident of Presidential Lakes since 1966. He was a member of Saint Ann''s Church.
Frank was a very family-oriented man.
He was the husband of the late Hermine.
He was the beloved father of Edward Zammit and his wife, Stacey of Vienna, Va., Peter Zammit and his wife, Susan of Presidential Lakes, and Doris Gill and her husband, Charles of North Hanover; and dear grandfather of Christina, Julia, Allison, Joseph, Karaline Zammit and Nicholas Barbero.
There will be a viewing and visitation for Francis 10:30 a.m. to Noon Thursday at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 370 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Saint Ann''s Church, 22A Trenton Road, Browns Mills.
Interment with honors will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran''s Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor''s favorite charity. The Lankenau Funeral Home,
