JOSEPH P. CANCELLIERI

     Joseph P. Cancellieri of Riverside, N.J. passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

     Son of the late Joseph T. and Arline D. Cancellieri, Joe was a lifelong resident of Riverside. He attended Riverside High School where he graduated in 1971. He continued his education at Trenton State College receiving a Bachelor’s degree in english in 1977.

     Joe worked for several years as a realtor for Frank Capece Real Estate. He changed career paths and became a businessman and florist, owning his own shop, the popular Riverside Towne and Country Florist In Riverside. Upon closing his shop, he was employed by the YMCA in Moorestown.

     Joe loved the arts and was incredibly creative. He enjoyed taking art classes and shopping with friends. He was an avid gardener and took pleasure in sharing his harvest with his friends and family. He loved to cook and enjoyed creating new recipes. Joe researched his family roots and delved deeply into the family genealogy. He loved to spend time with his friends and was always up for an adventure.

     Joe is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Marianne) of Mt. Laurel, Robert (Jeanette) of Huntersville, NC and his sister, Cristine (Frank) Thatcher of Westampton. He is also survived by many beloved nephews and nieces, several extended family members and wonderful friends who are family.

     Friends may call Thursday morning,  April 18, 2024 from 8:00 to10:00 am at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 303 Bridgeboro St., Riverside, NJ.  The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Jesus, The Good Shepherd RC Church, Warren St., Beverly. NJ. The interment will follow at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in Riverside.
