Grace P. Maute, formerly of Riverside, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Masonic Home of New Jersey in Burlington Township. She was 85.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Horace and Aura Payne of Villas, N.J.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frederick.

Grace was a graduate of Middle Township High School in Cape May Court House, N.J. and the Cooper University School of Nursing in Camden, N.J. She was a registered nurse in the obstetrical and gynecological department at Cooper from her graduation in 1947 to her retirement in 1985, serving as head nurse during many of those years.

Grace also enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, gardening, and taking care of her children.

She is survived by children, Dr. Rick Maute (Karen) of Danville, Va., Marcia Green (Bob) of Milton, Del., Mark Maute (Diane) of Cinnaminson, and Pam Faulkner (Ken) of Delanco; her grandchildren, Meghan McCarrick (Brian) of Floyd, Va., Eric (Nicole) of Virginia, Adam and Candace Prettyman of Delaware, Jenna, Deanna, and Mark Maute of Cinnaminson, and LCDR Brent Faulkner (Heather) of Virginia Beach, Va.; and her great-grandchildren, Brewer and Maeve McCarrick, and Connor and Carleigh Faulkner.

Relatives and friends of Grace''s family are invited to visit at her funeral service at 10:30 Monday, April 4, at the Masonic Home''s chapel, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, where visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of services, followed by interment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harvard Nurses'' Health Study, which furthers the knowledge of women''s health issues, Harvard Medical School, Channing Laboratory, 181 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115-5804, to which Grace was a dedicated and loyal participant since it was started 34 years ago.
