WINSTON COOPER Obituary
Winston (Bud) Cooper of Browns Mills, NJ
passed away on Friday, August 20, at home after a battle with
Parkinson’s disease. He was 91 years of age.
He retired from the USAF in 1969 having served for 22 years in Germany, the Middle East, the Far East
and various bases in the United States. After retirement from the USAF, he worked in warehouse
management until finally retiring in 1998. He was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Browns
Mills and served as a eucharistic minister and as a coordinator at the Parish Food Pantry. He was a friend
of Bill Wilson and carried Bill’s message to the inmates at the Federal Prison and NJ State Prison at Fort
Dix, NJ, for over 10 years.
He met the woman who was to be his wife, Mary Katherine (Kathy), in Memphis, Tennessee in 1952 and
they soon married. In 2021, they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Winston is survived by his wife, one
brother, William (Kay) of Waterloo, NY; three children, James (Mary) of Dover, Delaware, Elizabeth (Mark)
Hopkins of Morris Plains, NJ, and Jeffrey {Alexis} of Brunswick, Georgia; six grandchildren, Christine
(Mike) Lear, Owen (Kayla), Ethan, and Jonathan Cooper, Connor and Lauren Hopkins; three great
grandchildren, Olivia, Daniel, and Riley Lear and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is
predeceased by his son, John, and his brother, Robert Moulter.
Visitation will be at Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St, Pemberton, NJ on August 30 from 6:00 to
8:00 pm. The Liturgy of Mass of Christian Burial will be on August 31 at 11:00 am at St Ann’s Catholic
Church, 22 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ. A private interment with USAF military honors will be at a
later date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Military Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ, at the
discretion of the family.

Browns Mills, NJ.
