WILLIAM A. EMERY

     William A. Emery, of Delanco, age 100, passed away on April 6, 2022 at Virtua Hospital, Willingboro.
     Born in Riverside NJ on February 21, 1922, Mr. Emery was a Riverside High School Graduate, Class of 1939. He attended Chamberlain Metal School after which he worked on airplanes at General Motors in Trenton. At the beginning of World War II in 1942 he joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served as AM 2/c. After the war he worked at Rohm and Haas until 1948. In 1948 he was employed by the Riverside Post Office and retired as Superintendent of Operations in 1981 after 33 years of service. After retirement he worked at Eastwick's Florist delivering flowers until 2002.
     Mr. Emery was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was Scout Master of the first Riverside Scout troop in 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church. He also served on church council, ushered and co-chaired the annual Octoberfest with his wife Eunice. Additionally, he served as treasurer of the Delanco Cub Scouts and was a former member of the Delanco Library Board and the Shade Tree Commission. He was a former campaign treasurer for the Republican Club, served on the County Committee and worked on the Election Board. He was also a partner in Yoos Beauty Supply in Riverside.
     He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, golf and bowling. He also got great pleasure from making stained glass items for family, friends, Zion Lutheran Church and the Delanco Republican Club.
     Mr. Emery was predeceased by his dear daughter Cynthia Ruggeri in 1999. He was the husband of the late Eunice Yoos Emery for 57 years, and loving father of Paula Golladay and her husband William, and William David and his wife Alison. Also surviving are his grandchildren Jennifer (Will Waskes) and Zachary Golladay (Janine Payne); John (Lauren), Stephanie Ruggeri, and Gabrielle, David and Jayson. Also survived by a great-granddaughter Viviana Ruggeri.
     A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 9:30 to 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairview St. and Pavillion Ave., where services will be at 11 AM. Interment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
