Sandra Evelyn (Avery) Biehn

Born August 28, 1938 to Harry B. and Maxine (Albright) Avery, Sandy went home to the Lord on December 12, 2021. Married to John S. Biehn on August 22, 1958. Together they were blessed with a son, John S. Biehn, Jr. and a devoted daughter-in-law, Patti (Fithian) Biehn.

Sandy graduated from Palmyra High School in 1957. She worked at Palmyra 5&10, the Hosiery Mill, Gambles, and Moorestown Visiting Nurses in Moorestown as a Home Health Aide for 15 years. She cared for her in-laws, John and Frances for many years. In 2000, she survived a 3-year battle with cancer. Sandy volunteered her time helping the VFW Post 3020 Ladies Auxiliary, and at Riverside Turners. She was also the president of the Lutheran Brotherhood local branch. She loved her crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. Sandy had many friends, even the little ones in the neighborhood. She was a loyal member of Zion Lutheran Church in Riverside.

Survived by devoted granddaughter Erin M. Garst (Eric), grandson Sean F. Biehn (Shichen), and two great-grandchildren Evelyn G. Garst and Leonard J. Garst. Sisters, Jay Pace, Barbara Jackson, and baby sister Lynn Baskin. Nieces Cheryl (Robert) Pettis, Debra Confer, Jeanette (Doug) Kalar. Nephews Jeffrey (Joye) Fox and J.R. Davies. Also, 2 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews, 1 great-great-niece and 4 great-great-nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harry Avery, Maxine (Albright) Avery McGinness, her beloved in-laws John and Frances (Griffin) Biehn. Sister and brother-in-law Dorothy Biehn-Fox, and Sam Fox. Brother-in-laws Lynn Pace and Robert Jackson.

Sandy lived in steadfast faith toward God with love and care for her family, friends, and the Zion Lutheran Church. Her final days were spent in the loving care of the staff at the Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly, surrounded by her family.

Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on December 28, 2021. Visitation in the Memorial Hall 10: 00 to 11:00 followed by the service in the church. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please be charitable and donate to one of her favorite charities: Feed the Children or St. Jude Hospital.
