Robert E. Hand, Age 89 years, of the Masonic Village, Burlington Twp., formerly of Moorestown.
He was a native of Plymouth, Massachusetts where he went into the US Navy at the age of 17 and made it his career. He was a decorated Veteran having served in WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam.
After 20 years in the Navy and 10 in the Reserves he retired as a Chief Petty Officer with 30 years of service.
Robert was a retired system analyst for Lockheed Martin in Moorestown.
He was a devout Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Maple Shade and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Robert loved the Boston Red Socks, Model Trains, the Navy and being Irish.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy L. Hand and oldest son Thomas C. (Cliff).
Beloved father of Catherine L. Gaus ( William), Mary G. Totoro ( Michael), Robert E. Hand Jr. (Teresa), Charles A. Hand ( Kim), Joseph L. Hand ( Lisa), James P. Hand ( Donna), and Edward A. Hand (Sarah), brother of Louise DeSisto, grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 14.
The liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade. There will be a viewing for Robert 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at the Church.
Interment with full Navy Honors will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington,Va.
