Lucille "Lu" T. Van Newenhizen, nee - Tucholski, of Moorestown, NJ, a long time resident of Berlin passed away peacefully early on Palm Sunday morning, April 13, 2025 in Voorhees after a very difficult year of many medical issues.
Lucille was born in Camden, NJ, the daughter of Genevieve & Teofil Tucholski and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School with her sisters. She was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden. Her first job was at Curtis Publishing Co., in Philadelphia and then transferred to Bell Telephone Co. in Camden where she worked for many years until her first son was born. One of Lucille proudest moments was when she attained her NJ State Real Estate License. She worked for many real estate agencies in Camden Co.
She and her husband Jerry spent many wonderful years at Ocean Sands Resort Assoc. Trailer Park in Seaville outside of Sea Isle City where she still owns property and enjoyed many years as members of the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City. She was a member of St. Joseph's Polish Catholic Church in Camden and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Berlin, the Voorhees Senior Citizens Club and the National Assoc. of Realtors.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband Jerry, brother Theodore "Teddy" and her sisters, Rita M. Tucholski & Jeanette Sitkowski.
She is survived by 3 sons John of Moorestown, James & his wife Kelly of Atco and David & his wife Rose of Franklinville. She is also survived by 3 granddaughters Casey & her husband Anthony, Leah & Dylan and Kelly Rose, several nieces & nephews and of course Beau.
The viewing and visitation for Lucille will be held at our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St., Moorestown, NJ 08057 on April 23, 2025, Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM followed by entombment in the mausoleum at Locustwood Memorial Park, Rt. 70 in Cherry Hill, NJ.
