The family of Mrs. Jung Sook Carter (née Lee) of Willingboro, NJ, sadly announce her passing on February 5, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home at age 93 years. She was a native of Pyungbuk-Do, Korea.
As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jung Sook loved her family fiercely. She instilled her strong values and Christian beliefs in her family. She lived out her Christian faith daily, was a woman of prayer, and faithfully attended the Korean Baptist Church of NJ for over 45 years.
Jung Sook loved the beauty in life and lived her life fully. She loved nature, gardening, singing, old movies, Korean dramas, art, education, dressing well and good food. She was beautiful inside and out, intelligent, honest, resilient, practical, caring and generous. She was well-known for asking family and friends, “Did you eat?” and then feeding you.
Jung Sook is predeceased by her husband, LeRoy Carter. She is survived by her six children, Gainus Carter of Willingboro, NJ, Janet L. Carter of New Carrollton, MD, Ellis Carter and wife, Jannette Carter of Fairless Hills, PA, Lawrence Carter of Edgewater Park, NJ, Anthony Carter of Pikesville, MD, Maurice Carter and wife Andrea Carter of Orlando, FL, six grandchildren, Pierre, Luke, Taylor, Riley, Eunhea & Tam and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aaliyah, Isaiah & Jace.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family, 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Korean Baptist Church of NJ, 535 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, NJ, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 am.
