February 12, 1935 ~ December 31, 2021 (age 86) 86 Years Old

JOHN YORK Obituary


     John P. York, 86, formerly of Browns Mills, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021 at his home in Port Orange, Florida.
     John proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force, retiring in 1975. He also worked as a truck driver at the New Lisbon Developmental Center. He loved to play Senior Softball and was a proud team member of the Daytona 2009 Winter Champs. He was truly a great New York City boy...one of the best. He could always get "a rise" out of you.
    John was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth York and son Kevin York. He is survived by his wife Dolores; brother Thomas; his children Susan York, Mary (Jordan) Peled, Timothy (Keena) York, daughter-in-law Chiemi York and grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth, Connor and Aiden. He is also survived by step-children Denise (Dean) Albright, Ann McDonnell, Connie (Dave) Viering, John, Bill, and Kathy McDonnell, Mary (Todd) Clarke, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
    Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, January 13th from 9-10:45 AM at Lankenau Funeral Home, Pemberton NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at St Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Browns Mills. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen, Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in John's memory to St. Ann's Church, Browns Mills.
    A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in Port Orange, FL.
