John M. Kerestes, Jr. passed away peacefully with his children by his side on November 16th 2022, one day shy of his 82nd birthday. He was a lifelong resident Presidential Lakes, Pemberton Twp.
John was a retired driver for the Woodbridge Developmental Center and a life member of the Presidential Lakes Fire & Rescue Squad as well as a Fire Policeman for Burlington County. In his early years he spent a short time in the U.S. Army and was a professional EMT and Paramedic devoting his life to serving and helping others. In retirement he enjoyed coin collecting, browsing flea markets and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Lucy. John is survived by his son John III and wife Sherry, daughter Sherrie Cornell-Mumpower and husband Jeff & son David and wife Sherri, his sister Wilma Williams as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of John's family are invited to his viewing and visitation November 22nd, Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday morning 10:15 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, North Hanover Twp., NJ.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in his memory be made to the Pemberton Township or Jacobstown fire companies.
