It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeremiah "Jerry" Kelly on April 19, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1943 in Camden, NJ. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Missed by all who knew him and his beloved dog Fiona.
Jerry had a fascination with cars that began in his youth and evolved into a career of 35+ years with Sears Automotive. Known for his ability to tinker and innovate, Jerry and his brother-in-law Bill could transform any car into something new. His passion for cars was matched by his love for camping in the mountains with his family and best friend Bob, creating countless memories for all. Also known as the king of the backyard BBQ, he couldn’t wait to host many generations of the Meehan and Kelly family and friends. His six grandchildren who affectionately called him "Pop Pop", were the light of his life, bringing him immense joy and pride. Jerry and his grandchildren shared many unforgettable moments during family celebrations, holidays, camping trips and annual 4th of July celebrations filled with laughter, stories, and fireworks.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Mary E. Kelly (Meehan), together they raised three wonderful children. Jerry Kelly Jr., along with his wife Ingrid, blessed Jerry with a cherished grandson Matthew. Christine Tyrrell, with her husband Tom, brought joy to Jerry's life through their daughters Lauren and Lindsay. Kelly Ann Kelly brought such happiness to Jerry's life through the love of his granddaughter Kasey. Together with her partner Peter Flanagan, blessed him with two wonderful grandsons, Kelvin and Aidan. Each grandchild added their own unique sparkle to Jerry's world, creating a tapestry of cherished moments and unforgettable memories.
Jerry also leaves behind his dear sister, Mary Jane Felker, who was predeceased by her husband, Corky. And his nephew Clark Jr., along with his wife Holly, and their daughter Jessica.
Jerry's legacy is one of passion, ingenuity, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The viewing and visitation for Jerry will be held at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough, NJ on April 24, 2025, Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM. The Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton Twp., NJ
