J. T. Rufus

     J.T. Rufus of Mount Holly formerly of Browns Mills, age 81 years, passed away June 11, 2018 at Virtua Hospital Mount Holly.

     He was a native of Mississippi, moving to Chicago, IL in his teenage years.

     J.T. joined the Army in 1959 and made it his career. He retired as a Sergeant First Class with 22 years of service having served in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star.

     He also worked as a home health aide at Fort Dix for U.S. Civil Service.

      J.T. was a resident of Browns Mills from 1986 until his wife’s death in 2015.

     He was preceded in death by his wife Helga in 2015.

    Beloved father of Michael Rufus and his wife Jaci of Mount Holly, devoted grandfather of Christopher & Zoie and brother of Clement Rufus of Chicago.

    Relatives and friends of J.T.’s  family are invited to his viewing and visitation 7:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday evening and 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM Wednesday morning at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough where his Funeral Service will be held at 10:15 AM Wednesday.

     Interment with Military Honors will be in BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown, North Hanover.

     Due to Cemetery restrictions in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
