John Robert Heether of Delanco, Age 81 years, passed away October 30th,2018 at home.
Bob was a longtime resident of Riverside, former resident Beverly and presently a resident of Delanco. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s Parochial School and Riverside High School Class of 1955 where he was Captain in his Junior & Senior Year of the Varsity Baseball Team. After graduation he played semi- pro baseball with the Riverside Bombers.
He was employed for 35 years as a Postal Clerk at the Riverside Post Office and as a Cashier at the Moorestown Pathmark where he was known for his friendly personality, keen wit and love for telling jokes. He loved being with people.
Bob was a member of the South Jersey Umpire Association and later started his own Association called the River Front Umpire Association.
He was a member of Jesus the God Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph’s Church, Beverly where he was a former Usher and past President of the PTA.
Bob’s love was Baseball, playing cards with the family. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Phillies.
He was a very warm and caring person, and was known all around the Riverfront communities.
He was preceded in death by his parents John & Pauline Heether, brother Larry and sister Joan.
Beloved father of Dr. Joseph J. Heether and Donna Bonner & husband Michael all of Beverly, sister Janet Dickinson & husband Thomas, devoted grandfather of Sean Bonner & Michael P. Bonner.
He is also survived by his former wife Veronica Heether of Beverly,
Relatives and friends of Bob’s family are invited to his viewing and visitation 7:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday evening and 8:45 to 9:45 AM Wednesday morning at The Lankenau Funeral Home 303 Bridgeboro St., Riverside.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Wednesday morning at Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, St Joseph’s Church, Warren Street, Beverly.
Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Riverside next to his parents.
