Imogene "Gene" Mildred Greener (nee Miller), age 93 years, of Pineview Terrace, Browns Mills, NJ passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025 Saturday afternoon at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 8, 1931 in the Ewing Twp. section of Trenton, one of five daughters and 2 sons born to Edward T. Miller and Margaret (nee Henry). She was predeceased by 3 of her sisters Betty Sauers, Alice Zita & Alverta Negron and her 2 brothers Leroy E. Miller & Joseph E. Miller. Gene lived in Trenton until she moved to Browns Mills in 1972. She has been a resident of Pineview Terrace Since 1990.
Gene worked for the Trenton Police Dept., Traffic Division during the early 1960's. She was employed by Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton as a Rehab Assistant in the Physical Therapy Dept. during the 1970's retiring in 1981.
Gene was a member of St. Ann's Church in Browns Mills, past vice president of Deborah Home Chapter, a 40 year life member of Country Lakes Fire House, past vice president & Fire Police Lieutenant, past member & vice president of Pemberton Twp. Lions Club, past member of Browns Mills Fire Co. & Fire Police, 10 year coordinator for Operation Santa Claus for Fort Dix & McGuire A.F.B. and contributing member of the Country Lakes Emergency Squad. Gene worked tirelessly to raise funds for the Pemberton Twp. Police Dept and numerous other organizations throughout southern New Jersey.
Gene was the wife of the late Horace George Greener who passed away in 2004. She is survived by 2 daughters Frances Gene Bickford & her husband Gary L. and Margaret Jean Johnson & her husband Fred R. Sr. both of Browns Mills. 2 grandchildren Michele C. Emmons & her husband Donald of Pemberton and Frederick R. Johnson Jr. & his wife Jamie of Browns Mills. 3 great grandchildren Zoey M. Emmons of Pemberton, Olivia S. Johnson & Frederick R. Johnson III "RJ" both of Browns Mills. A sister Geraldine Bishop of Holy Oak, MA. Gene is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews, John Zita & his wife Peggy and numerous friends including John Power, Dr. Jay Patel and Cindy & Dennis Lalumiere.
The viewing and visitation for Gene's family and friends will be held at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 370 Lakehurst Rd., Browns Mills, NJ 08015 on August 18, 2025, Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM & Tuesday morning from 9:45 to 10:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church, 22 Trenton Rd., Browns Mills, Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM. The interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, N. Hanover Twp., NJ.
