Heather Machner (nee Blaine), born on January 27, 1955, in Camp Kilner, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, at Virtua Mt. Holly hospital in New Jersey.
Heather was the beloved daughter of the late George Francis Blaine and Sandra Mac Lean Walker. As an "Army Brat" she spent her childhood moving frequently, but called Browns Mills, New Jersey home for much of her life. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Machner, who she missed dearly, as well as her sister Victoria Vickery.
Heather's greatest joys in life were her family and the time she spent with them. She is survived by her siblings: Sheila Mulraney (Kurt Orfe), Allen Blaine (Nancy), and Mark Andrew Moskowitz. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Carrie Kelly, Ronald Gilbert (Caryn), and Melanie Robinson (Cole), as well as her stepchildren, Robert Machner and Billy Machner (Neil). Heather was a proud grandmother to five cherished grandchildren: Jessica Oakes-Richter, Emily Oakes, Devin Gilbert, Colin Robinson, and Nathan Robinson.
Following her husband's passing, she met a wonderful man, Bernard DeZalia. They met in March of 2009, when she asked him out for coffee. From that moment on they were together every day. Bernie was a loving companion and most of all her best friend. Bernie helped her through her grieving as well as with her everyday needs. We couldn't have asked for a better person to be by her side, and she loved him very much.
Professionally, Heather found fulfillment as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), dedicating herself to caring for others. Outside of work, she had a deep love for her horse Misty and treasured the moments they shared together.
A viewing will be held on January 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 370 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, New Jersey 08015 followed by Heather's Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. The burial will follow at Jr Mechanics Cemetery in Tabernacle, New Jersey and then a Celebration of Life at Tarantella's Ristorante, located at 128 NJ-70 #7, Medford, New Jersey.
Heather's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
