Florence Elsie Verner (née Hansbury) on April 1, 2019 at the Masonic Village at Burlington, NJ.
Beloved wife of the late David Tease Verner. Predeceased by parents Nelson
Brown Hansbury and Florence Elsie Vanderveer Hansbury. Her brothers
Daniel Vanderveer Hansbury (Grace), Nelson Brown Hansbury ( Edith) and
George Carson Hansbury ( Elsie). Survived by her two sons: David Nelson
Verner (Kay) and James Wilson Verner (Helene). Grandchildren Justin
David Verner and Amanda Kay Verner Thompson (Brett). And many nieces and
nephews.
Elsie was born in Trenton, NJ on July 1, 1922. She graduated from Trenton Central High School
in 1940. Moved to Delanco NJ in 1940. Elsie worked at Macmillan Publishing in Riverside, NJ for 22
years retiring in 1985. Was an active member of the Delanco Presbyterian
Church serving as a Deacon for many years. Moved to the Masonic Home in
2006 and was a volunteer there for many years. She enjoyed her family,
Square Dancing, playing pinochle with family and friends and was famous
for her chocolate chip cookies.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on May 5, 2019 in the Chapel at
The Masonic Village at Burlington: 902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ. Visitation beginning at 12:30 PM
followed by the service and celebration at 1 PM. Donations in honor of Elsie can be made to
The Masonic Village at Burlington or Acacia Hospice.
