It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Louise Dorsey Weedon announced her passing at home on October 3, 2023 at the age of 87 years. She was blessed with a full, long and active life surrounded by friends and family.
Elsie was born in New London, Maryland to William Norman and Carybell Dorsey. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Frederick, Maryland. Elsie spent her younger years as an insurance adjuster in Rockville, Maryland and the DC area.
She met and married the love of her life, Hayes Weedon and shortly after they moved to Neptune, New Jersey, Elsie was active and love to travel visiting almost all of the 50 states. She was a member and former president of the Eden-Stanley American Legion Post # 294 in Pemberton. Elsie loved to be with her family and cook her specialty dishes including mac & cheese and Watergate cake.
She was predeceased by her parent, her husband Hayes in 1990 and seven brothers.
Elsie is remembered by her loving daughter Kimberly Evans and her husband Jermaine, her grandchildren Mark, Michael, & Genna and 5 great grandchildren. She leaves behind her brother Herbert Dorsey and sister Marguerite Dorsey. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to Elsie's viewing and visitation at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough on October 10, 2023, Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM followed by the interment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, North Hanover Twp.
