Elizabeth (Beth) Collins, daughter of the late Grace and George Donahue, passed on 10/10/21 at 100+ years of age. Beth was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She received a Bachelors degree from Albany State Teachers College, Albany NY.
During her educational career Beth taught 4th grade at St. Christopher’s School, Rocky River, Ohio for 7 years and taught and was librarian at Haddon Township HS for 20 years until her retirement. Although Beth lived in Mt Laurel, NJ for 53 years she held Sackets Harbor, NY, a family gathering place, very, very dear to her heart.
Beth was an active participant at Our Lady of Good Counsel for 51 years and served on the Bereavement Committee. Along with being an avid reader, Beth was a world traveler, commenting at age 86 after her first cruise that she’d “never do that again- too boring!” She was one of a kind and famous for enjoying all-day hot cups of coffee & 5pm scotches with friends and loved ones.
Beth was predeceased by her husband, Bill, and her daughter, Soozie. Her strength and love will be deeply missed by her family: daughter Cathi Rook (Bob) of Fort Mill SC, son Michael Collins (Sally) of West Creek NJ, grandson Matt Rook (Leahanna), great grandchildren Riley and Emily of Port Washington NY and grandson Steve Rook (Lindsey), great grandchildren Jack and Kate of Charlotte NC.
