Dorothea E. Stockton, longtime resident of Delanco, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at the age of 95 years.
She was the daughter of Edwin W. & Eleanor Berry Schmierer. Predeceased by her beloved brothers, Ed and Jack. She was known as “Dot” or “Dottie” to her many dear friends, she spent her early years in Willingboro and Edgewater Park.
Dorothea was a proud graduate of Burlington City High School and Douglass College (Rutgers University), and a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Dorothea enjoyed many activities including travel, painting, solving crossword puzzles and rooting for the Phillies, but above all, time spent with her family and friends. She had a kind heart, a keen intellect and a sharp wit.
Dorothea is survived by her beloved children, Jean D. McManus, Christopher R. Stockton (Kathleen) and John E. Stockton (Arleen); grandchildren Christopher (Kylene), Eleanor, Lisa (Fred), Juliette, Jake and Alexander; six great-grandchildren and her niece and nephews.
Visitation for Dorothea's family and friends will be held at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 303 Bridgeboro St., Riverside, NJ 08075 on June 25, 2026, Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The interment will be held privately by her immediate family at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington.
