It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Conte of Tabernacle, NJ, on April 12, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born on the 8th of September 1944 to Samuel and Helen (Mileski) Conte in Trenton, NJ where he lived until joining the Air Force in 1963. It was during his time of service he met the love of his life Mary Jo (Walker) Conte. They married in 1966 and started a family while stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, they moved back to New Jersey where they built a forever home in Tabernacle.
Donald worked at the US Steel plant in Fairless Hills, PA for 35 years until his retirement. He was a dedicated Boy Scout Leader of Troop 54 for many years. Service projects remained local and benefited Tabernacle.
Donald was a licensed private pilot and belonged to the Cherokee Aero Club at the Robbinsville Airport. He was known for flying friends and family all over the East Coast.
Donald was a loving husband, devoted father and a proud grandfather. Family meant everything to him. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jo and his brothers Samuel and Kenneth, as well as, his parents Helen and Samuel. He is survived by his children Carolyn (Dennis), Anthony, Mary-Ann, Christina (Jeffrey), and by his loving grandchildren Bethany and Christopher. He leaves behind several family members including multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 17th 2026 at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Vincentown, NJ 08088. Viewing hours will be from 8:00am to 10:00am with a church service following at 11:00am at Holy Eucharist Church in Tabernacle. Interment will be immediately following the mass at Junior Mechanics Cemetery on Carranza Road in Tabernacle.
