Charlotte Marie was born to Charles and Barbara Borden in 1928. She was of petite size and stature. As a teenager, she had to have corrective surgery to correct her severe scoliosis. It was experimental at that time but she came through it bravely. She met the love of her life Elwin H. Hamersly, Sr. and together they buiilt their home in Delran, New Jersey. With the help of her father and husband she did her part to build their cherished residence.
Charlotte was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Elwin H. Hamersly, Jr. (Margaret); Grandchildren Eric (Laura) Hamersly; Neil Hamersly; Mark Hamersly, Amanda (Nicholas) Kirkland. She leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Eli Henry, Owen Wesley and Rosalie Charlotte Kirkland along with Ava Anne and Emma Rose Hamersly to whom she was known as Grandma DooDah. She also leaves behind memories of raising Lee (Peggy) Bakely as a very young boy and her very helpful neice Sharon Marino along with multiple neices, nephews, neighbors and friends.
There will be a visitation for Charlotte from 9:30 to 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at Zion Lutheran Church, corner of Pavilion Ave. and Fairview St., Riverside where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
