Cecelia Mary Cathers, born in Camden New Jersey on Tuesday August 12,1952, crossed over The Rainbow Bridge, due to cancer, on Tuesday evening, August 13, 2024, in the arms of her compassionate husband Thomas, at the Samaritan Hospice center in Voorhees, New Jersey.
Visitation and viewing are at Lankenau Funeral Home located at 31 Elizabeth Street, Pemberton, New Jersey 08068. Visitation on Monday August 19, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 AM. Interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover Township, New Jersey will occur at 1:00 PM.
In 1993 Cecelia’s life blossomed when she met her soul mate Thomas J. Cathers Sr. and was married on July 7, 2001, in a beautiful garden ceremony, at their home in Whitesbog, New Jersey.

Deborah J. Parke and her husband Robert Parke.
John H. Fenimore and his partner Nichole Miller.
Faith M. Fenimore and her partner Keath Brown.
James L. Fenimore and his partner Jennifer Andrews.
Three Stepchildren:
Thomas J. Cathers Jr. and his wife Charlene L. Cathers.
Sandra M. Cathers and her Life partner Russ Smith.
Theodore W. Cathers Sr.
Fifteen Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.
Cecelia M. Cathers was a graduate of Pemberton Township High School; Future Business Leaders of America certification. Graduate of Burlington County College with an associate degree in Early Childhood Development.
Cecelia worked as a sales representative for the A.L. Williams Insurance Company; 20 years for the Burlington County Special Service School District, Pemberton Township School District, and the New Jersey Youth Challenge Academy as a substitute instructor, Life Skills Coordinator and Job Skills Coordinator; and as short-order chef for the Speak-Easy bar and Grill Browns Mills, New Jersey.
A life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 899, Auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6805, and a supporter of Disabled American Veterans chapter 27, Pemberton, New Jersey.
Her volunteer activities included the McGuire Alert Team; The Red Hat Society; the Pemberton Township Democrat Club; and District 1 Pemberton Township Burlington County Committee representative.
Cecelia enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts, cats, her grand dog Brutis, painting, lawn and house care, vehicle maintenance mechanics and technology. An avid motorcycle enthusiast with her husband, they spent 20 years riding their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle through all 48 states except for Kentucky, while also visiting Canada and Mexico.
