CARMELINA (Vasquez) NIEVES

     It is with profound sadness that the family of Carmelina Nieves (nee Vasquez) share her peaceful passing on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico to Ramona Ortiz and Fernando Vasquez.

     Carmelina will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses Teddy and Paquita Nieves, Jose and Rhonda Nieves, Sandra M. Nieves and her partner Eric Arroyo and Julius and Cheryl Nieves.  5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many other brothers, sisters and family members.  

     She was predeceased by her loving husband Teodulo Nieves and son, Orlando Nieves (Barbara).

     A beautiful woman with a beautiful and giving heart and spirit, a quiet, gentle presence that everyone loved to be around.  She was most happy when surrounded by family and friends that she loved and cooking up special meals and dinners for all to enjoy.  She loved the Army life and her and her loving husband brought up their 5 children living the military life.  Her presence will be greatly missed.

     The Viewing and Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth Street, Pemberton, NJ.  Burial will take place 1:00 p.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown, N. Hanover Twp., NJ.
