CANDACE KENNEDY Obituary

Candace J. Kennedy (Hofmann), age 78 years, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with dementia.

Born on May 16, 1947, in Livingston, New Jersey, Candace was a graduate of Livingston High School, Class of 1965. She spent most of her life as a resident of Chatsworth NJ where she raised her 3 sons. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved were the hallmarks of her life.

Candace built a meaningful and fulfilling career with the Pemberton Township School District, where her compassion, dedication, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. She treasured the lifelong friendships she formed throughout her years there.

Family was at the center of Candace’s world. She was the beloved mother of Patrick (Ann), Scott (Amy), and Shannon, and a loving stepmother to Linda Kennedy and Ron Kennedy. To her grandchildren—Dillon, Mackenzie, Jordan, Samantha, Cassidy, and Shannon—she was their cherished “Mom mom,” offering endless love, encouragement, and support. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara (Paul) Steele and Mary Hofmann, several nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Candace was predeceased by her husband, Edward R. Kennedy; her parents, Charles and Sandra Hofmann; her brother, William “Billy” Hofmann and her sisters, Shirley Hofmann and Pat Lee, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

In her personal life, Candace found joy in life’s simple blessings: time spent with her family, her active social circle, her fellowship as a member of the First Baptist Church in Pemberton, the companionship of her many beloved pets, and the serenity of the beach—one of her favorite places to relax.

Candace will be remembered for her generous spirit, her radiant warmth, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her.
