BARZILLIA L. ("Bud") ROSS Jr.

     Barzillia “Bud” Ross, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in Ephrata, PA. 

     Bud was born on March 11, 1928 in Pemberton Borough, NJ, where he lived most of his life.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather.

     Bud married his high school sweetheart, Anna Mae, in 1949 and settled in Pemberton where they raised their 3 children.  The love between Bud and Anna Mae was everlasting and easily felt by all when in their presence.

     He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae (Emig); daughter, April Ross; son Kerry Ross (Michele); 6 grandchildren (Steven, Stephanie, Erik, Chris, Jennifer and Craig); 7 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild. He is predeceased by his son, Robin Ross; Robin’s wife, Deborah; and their son Doug Ross.

     Bud graduated from Pemberton High in 1946 where he earned 4 letters in sports. He was a talented athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball and football. He played, managed or coached several baseball teams within Burlington County while living in Pemberton. After graduating from high school, Bud worked at Pemberton Lumber and Mill for 10 years then moved on to NJ Bell for the remainder of his career, retiring in 1989.  His years after retirement were spent in Delaware and Pennsylvania.

     Bud will be remembered for time spent with his family, trips to the Jersey Shore, tending to his yard, his award winning Christmas decorations and annual 4th of July festivities.

     Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St, Pemberton, NJ. Visiting hours will be from 1pm – 2pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.  Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton Borough,  NJ.
