Arline D. Cancellieri (nee Mollineaux) of Riverside, N.J. passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
Daughter of the late Kathryn and James Mollineaux, Arline was a lifelong resident of Riverside. She attended Riverside High School where she graduated as Salutatorian in 1946 after serving as both a class officer and head cheerleader. She attended Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA, graduating as an RN in 1949. She worked in area hospitals before returning to school. She received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Health Education from Trenton State College in 1971. She worked as a school nurse in the Willingboro School System for 22 years.
Arline was a member and past president of the Burlington County School Nurses Association. She belonged to Jesus, the Good Shepherd RC Church (formerly St. Peter’s). She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. Arline was a past president of the St. Peter’s Parish Council.
In 1952, Arline married “the love of her life”, Joseph T. “Rocky” Cancellieri. They were married for more than 50 years. Arline was a loyal supporter of her husband’s career, both as an educator and coach at Riverside High School. In 2011, she was inducted into the Riverside High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Arline was an avid reader, loved traveling with her husband, and had a lifelong love of the Jersey shore. LBI was a second home for many years.
Most of all, Arline loved to spend time with her family and friends. On Sundays there would be either a pot of her delicious spaghetti sauce and meatballs or a bowl of her German potato salad on the table for all to enjoy. Every Christmas, she would bake pumpkin bread with her family.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph and sisters Ennis (Edward) Mannion and Kathy Mollineaux. Arline is survived by her brother Donald (Elisie) Mollineaux and sister Doramae (Tom) Rossi. Arline leaves behind her four children: Joseph of Riverside, Thomas (Marianne) of Mt. Laurel, Cristine (Frank) Thatcher of Westampton, and Robert (Jeanette) of Huntersville NC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Melissa (Brett) Emmons, Jillian, Jessica (Jacob) Helmeczi, Kendra (Michael) Hecker, David (Rachael), Frank Thatcher, Matthew, Anthony (fiancee Abigail), and Mary. Arline had 12 great grandchildren: Amylyn, Daniel Shawn, Emily, Elijah, Elisabeth, Carter, Jeremiah, Sienna, Georgianna, Cecilia, Nicholas, and Jack. She is survived by many beloved nephews and nieces.
Friends may call Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 4-6 pm, and on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 9-10 am at Lankenau Funeral Home, 303-05 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside, N.J.
Liturgy will be Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10:30 am at Jesus, The Good Shepherd RC Church on Warren Street in Beverly. N.J. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in Riverside.
