ANNAMARIE LANE Obituary

     Annamarie (Yerkes) Lane of Pines Village at Whiting, NJ died peacefully with family by her side on February 4, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born in Pemberton, NJ, September 17, 1928, the daughter of Mary (Stevenson) and Charles B. Yerkes. Annamarie grew up in Pemberton where she met her future husband, Henry Lane, down at the Rancocas Creek on a summer day. Annamarie and Henry married in 1949 and enjoyed 67 years together. They lived in Pemberton where they raised their three children until retiring to Lavallette. They moved to Whiting in 2005.

     Annamarie went to work right out of high school as a secretary and bookkeeper for Charles B. Yerkes and Sons. She became a full time mother with the birth of their first child in 1951. She was a Brownie and 4-H leader, and a Sunday school teacher. Annamarie provided transportation to and from sports, school programs and Junior Choir for her children as well as many other local children. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pemberton for more than 80 years and served in many positions and on different boards at the church.

     Annamarie enjoyed gardening, china painting, knitting and crafts. She was a loving and well loved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Annamarie was a very caring person who lovingly cared for her mother and her husband at the end of their lives. She also loved her many nieces and nephews. Henry and Annamarie hosted many holidays at their home and created lots of memories for both her family and extended family.

     Annamarie was predeceased by her husband Henry in 2017. She is survived by her three children H. Leigh Lane and wife Deborah, Barbara and her husband Robert Halasz, and Patricia and her husband Vernon Haskins, her five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

     Visitation and Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Pemberton United Methodist Church, 45 Hanover Street, Pemberton, NJ. Visitation 9:30 am, Memorial Service 10:30 am, followed by a reception at the church.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Annamarie’s name be made to Pemberton United Methodist Church, PO Box 282, Pemberton, NJ 08068.
