ADRIENNE B. LAWERY

     Adrienne Beverly Lawery (nee Thomas), age 67 years, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, in Browns Mills, New Jersey. Born on December 7, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, she embraced life with both hands and left an indelible mark on those she touched.

     A paragon of virtue, Adrienne was the loving matriarch of her family—cherished as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her life was a testament to her enduring strength and the love she generously bestowed upon her family. Her kind and giving nature was the cornerstone upon which her family thrived.

     Adrienne's professional life was marked by a remarkable tenure of over 30 years at the Department of Defense, where she served her country with dedication and honor. Her commitment to service extended beyond her career, as she was an active member of the Auxiliary and DAV, volunteering to support the homeless and veterans in her community.

     She is lovingly remembered by her husband Jessie Lawery; four children: Carmaeletha Gorman (m. Derek Gorman), Kevins Wheeler Jr., Chantel Wheeler, and Anthony Lawery; as well as by her 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Adrienne's memory will also be cherished by her nieces, nephews, and all those whose lives she touched.

     Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Adrienne's legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless service.

     A service to honor Adrienne's life will be held on March 9, 2024, Saturday at 2:00 pm, at VFW Post 6805, 247 Mt Misery Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. In remembrance of Adrienne Beverly Lawery, the family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating a life that was lived with purpose and grace. Her memory will be held in our hearts forever.
