Kathleen I. Emmons died on Sunday, July 4, 2021. She was 91. Born Kathleen Isabel Nixon on Jarvis Street in 1929, she was a lifelong Pemberton Borough resident. She graduated from Pemberton High School in 1947, where she was a field hockey player and varsity cheerleader. Kathleen married her childhood sweetheart Billy in 1950 at the Pemberton United Methodist Church.
She spent her life as a loving wife, a caring mother and a devoted MomMom. Mrs. Emmons enjoyed baking and was an accomplished artist, although she had no formal training. She inherited her artistic ability from her father and passed it on to her children. Kathleen loved Christmas and Williamsburg, had lifelong friends, and had an intrinsic understanding of nature. She loved dogs, especially her Dandie Dinmont terriers.
Kathleen, a true lady, is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, William Emmons, her dear son Barry (Maggi), her loving daughter Kathy Bernacki (Joe), her cherished grandchildren Brett Emmons, Will Emmons, Ben Bernacki and Betsy Emmons, and five adored great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 9:30-11:00, followed by an 11 am Memorial Service, at Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth Street in Pemberton.
