RICHARD (Rick) W. SHOCH died August 18, 2020 (66 years old). The second son of James R. and Teresa Shoch

He is survived by his wife Janet (Wean), daughter Eileen Shetzline (Matt), two grandsons Matthew, 9 and John, 7. ; Brother James and two younger sisters Teresa Shoch (Bobby Domard) and Margaret Plasmier (Sean) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rick served in the US Army Reserve as a member of the 369th Engineer Battalion (firefighters) rising to the rank of Specialist 4th Class.

Most proud of his 50 years as a member in the Quaker City String Band of the Philadelphia Mummers, Rick was an excellent saxophone player and lifelong friend to all the guys in the 3rd floor gang. In later life he became somewhat of an internet Karaoke singer and developed a sizeable group of followers and admirers. He and Janet toured the Caribbean extensively during their many Royal Caribbean cruises and marveled at the wonders of Alaska on a particularly memorable Celebrity cruise a few years ago.

Private funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2020 at Lankenau Funeral Home in Vincentown, N.J.

Dear Janet, I am deeply saddened by your loss. At this time, I’m sure it’s extremely difficult to celebrate Rick’s life with all that were close to him. Maybe someday in the near future all will be able to come together and celebrate the man he was. My heart goes out to you & your family. Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers. Hugs my friend.

My heart is broken since Rick passed. He was always a protector and great big brother to me & Margie as we were growing up and we knew he would always watch over us. He was loving, funny and would make us laugh with all his stories. He was a great uncle to his nieces and nephews. There will be a void during the holidays and family gatherings we have in the future, but I know that Rick is watching over our family along with Mom and Dad and they will always be in our hearts. God Bless You Rick, I love you and miss you.
