Phyllis L. Jackson (Mama Jack) of Pemberton, age 80 years, passed away April 10, 2012 at Samaritan Hospice, Mount Holly.
She was a native of Miami, FL and graduate of Booker T. Washington Senior High School, Miami.
Phyllis joined the WACS in the U.S. Army and became a Nurse Technician rising to the rank of Sergeant. She served honorably in the Korean War and received the National Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
She was a retired caretaker for New Lisbon Developmental Center after 25 years. She resided in Pemberton since 1960.
Wife of the late Collier Jackson Jr., Beloved Mother of McKinley (Butch) Jackson of Sacramento, CA, Lynette Jackson, Thomas C. Jackson and Cheryl Anderson and husband Criag, all of Pemberton, Sister of Cheryl and Joseph Jackson, both of Florida, in-law of Willie and Rose Jackson and their children, Grandmother of 13 and Great-grandmother of many.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to her viewing and visitation 12 Noon to 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Tabernacle of Praise, 271 Ridge Road, Browns Mills where her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM.
