Enrique "Chaly" Fantauzzi of Pemberton passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010. He was 86.
Chaly was a native of Puerto Rico who joined the U.S. Army and traveled the world.
He was a decorated veteran of World War II, Korea (twice), and Vietnam.
He was a recipient of the Bronze star. After 24 years in the Army, Chaly retired as a master sergeant (E-8). He received the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal at Fort Dix, the state''s highest military award.
He was a retired postal worker after 15 years with the Philadelphia Postal Service Distribution Center.
Chaly was a radio-controlled aircraft enthusiast.
He was the beloved husband of Elena (Lancara) for 57 years; dear father of Gloria Bell and her husband, Michael, of Pemberton, Sibyl Negron of Sterling, Va., and Paquita Nieves and her husband, Ted, of Winslow Township; brother of Nilsa Camacho of Puerto Rico, and Jenny Alvarez of Oklahoma; the devoted grandfather of Veronika, Victoria, Eliana and Manuel; and great-grandfather of Alexandra, Isiana, Angely and Zoie.
There will be a viewing and visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough, where relatives and friends of Chaly''s family are invited to his funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
