Doretta Honeycutt worked at Penn Mutual in Philadelphia for the first part of her life living in Delanco, NJ. Until she met up with her future husband, Rodrick D (Dean) Honeycutt, at the Riverside Roller Skating Rink in Riverside New Jersey....
They went together for a short while and decided to get married in November 1957....
Their only son Kenneth, was born on March 4th, 1958 (See Picture of Doretta & baby son Kenneth)
She then worked at the Riverside Public Library for approx. 10 years as head librarian. Upon her leaving the Riverside Library, over the years following, she worked through out Burlington County's Library Services in different townships; working for such libraries as Burlington County College's (now Rowan) Library, Burlington County Public Library, Delanco Public Library, Mt. Holly Public Library, and Cinnaminson Public Library for a short while......
She retired from the library business after a fire interrupted the lives of her and her husband.... And continued to bring hardship until the damage could be repaired. Her husband died 2 !/2 years later, in a nursing home; and the event devastated Doretta......
Until the house could be fully repaired from the fire, Doretta lived with her son Kenneth..... Finally able to re-enter her home in 2017, she lived in that home, Which Dean and Doretta had bought, in Riverside in 1974, until her passing, at this long-term homestead residence, with her caretaker, and son at her side on January 31, 2024 at 9:30 PM.
Everyone that knew Doretta, thought she was a kind and caring individual that had a whole lot of heart.....
Raise your cup and toast Doretta, as her life has come full-circle with a full and prosperous ending.
