Edsel Rodriguez of Browns Mills, Age 84 years. Passed away July 8, 2012.
Edsel was born in New York City. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Edsel spent several overseas tours in Germany, where he met his future wife Ilse. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and started a second career as a Service Manager at Ayres Cadillac dealership in Burlington for eighteen years.
Ed, as he was mostly known, and his wife Ilse settled in Browns Mills, where they helped with the every day events of the community. After his wife died Ed continued his unselfish contribution to his church. He served as a Deacon of the Mesiah Lutheran Brethern Church in Browns Mills .
Ed was a life member of the American Legion and The Veteran of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his younger sister Librada Sanchez and her husband Calvin of Palm Bay, Florida, and his two nephews Calvin Sanchez Jr. and Glenn Sanchez.
Relatives and friends of Ed’s are invited to his viewing and visitation 7:00-9:00pm Thursday evening and 9:30-10:30am Friday at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 370 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills where Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday.
Interment will be in BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp.
